Through a combination of fable, humour and touching humanism, Joe Komodo conveys powerful and touching messages whilst maintaining his characteristic home-grown spirit and global feel.
The poems themselves are a hotchpotch of reflections as seen from a ‘Rickshaw window travelling on the rickety ol’ wheel of life’. Each copy has been lovingly hand screen printed in Kathmandu on Himalayan Lokta (rice) paper with designs by illustrator Toby Leigh, giving the books an organic and personal feel.
Leigh’s charming and vibrant style can be seen across many artistic platforms. His clients have included, The Guardian, The Times, FHM, BT, Playstation, Toyota and Vodafone. His illustrations are wholesome and full of character, perfectly complementing Joe’s warm and accessible tone.
All profits from the book will go to the Tibet relief fund, following Joe’s longstanding relationship with the troubled Himalayan country and his ongoing support of charitable groups campaigning for a free Tibet.
