Unlike most commercial soap-makers, Dr Bronner's soaps retain the glycerine for its superb moisturizing qualities. Organic hemp and jojoba oils give a milder, smoother lather and natural plant-derived vitamin E and citric acid are used to protect freshness.
Only 100% pure high quality essential oils are used and there are no chelating agents, dyes, whiteners or synthetic fragrances added.
All Dr Bronner's soaps are biodegradable, nature-friendly and Fair Trade. None of the products or the ingredients have been tested on animals.
The Bronner family is committed to environmental protection and has introduced several initiatives to encourage major industries to move away from polluting, unsustainable materials and methods to cleaner, sustainable ones.
Dr Bronner's soaps are made with certified organic olive, hemp and palm oils instead of tallow, and contain three times more organic coconut oil than commercial soaps. Coconut oil generates high-lather cleansing even in hard water and hemp, olive and palm oil-based soaps make a mild, smooth, creamy lathers.
