Lets look at the health advantages:
We realized that it was possible to avoid many of these toxins by using natural organic products that had been designed to perform to the same level as more traditional products but without using potentially harmful ingredients.
Substances previously thought of as harmless are being shown to be harmful and removed – such as Parabens. These synthetic chemicals are used as preservatives (i.e. they stop fungi and bacteria growing) in the cosmetics industry and can be found in most shampoos, moisturizers, shaving gels and toothpastes. Many people feel uncomfortable with the level of parabens that they are exposed to.
However, have you ever considered how many paraben-containing products might one person use over a 10-year period and how impossible it might be to measure the effects scientifically? Even the most modest user of personal care products will probably go through about 20 tubes of the parabens-containing products a year. Long-term health problems may not arise until after 20 years of use, so that is 4000 different products to catalogue for each person studied – impossible!
